Session Outline
This session introduces the term ‘habitat’ with a detailed look at the ‘rainforest’ habitat.
The session will look at the different layers of the rainforest and discuss how animals survive in each layer. Children will understand what basic requirements, including humans, need in their habitats to survive.
Children will learn that animals are ‘adapted’ to the habitat they live in. With the help of animal artefacts, the session will use examples of animals found in rainforests to show adaptations of different animals from the same habitat.
