We caught up with Animal Encounters Keeper Hannah, as we learnt the signs for many different animals - with the help of our new British Sign Language boards which can be found across the Foot Safari.
Keeper Hannah is learning British Sign Language and was keen to be the first to demonstrate the signs for many different animals she works with every day! With the help of our new British Sign Language boards and Keeper Hannah signing along - watch the video below to learn plenty of new animal signs to use on your next visit.
These British Sign Language boards are one of the many accessibility advancements made across Woburn Safari Park recently, including a brand new Changing Places facility, communication boards, social scripts and our highly popular SEN-Friendly Workshop Days for children with additional needs.
Head of Education and Customer Liason, Natasha Kyle told us: 'Our new BSL interpretation boards are a great addition to the Foot Safari and we hope that through accessibility tools such as these, we can raise awareness of BSL and its importance to our visitors - continuing to make Woburn Safari Park more inclusive.'
The addition of BSL boards to Woburn Safari Park couldn't have come at a more exciting time, as the UK Government recently announced that British Sign Language will be taught as a GCSE in England from 2025.
