This summer the Big Trunk Trail will see over 30 unique and vibrant elephant sculptures bring Luton’s landmarks to life… and Woburn Safari Park is proud to be a part of the herd!
Offering a free, interactive, fun day out for families, friends, and art lovers, the 30 giant elephants will come together to form the biggest and most unique outdoor public art event that Luton has ever seen.
Beginning 10th July 2021, the public art event will run for 13 weeks and will feature a sponsored elephant from Woburn Safari Park. Specially designed and brought to life by the talented artist Vikki Ashmenal, the Hide & Seek themed elephant sculpture will add an extra fun element to the trail, as visitors try to seek out all of the hidden creatures in the design!
The Big Trunk Trail is being run by Keech Hospice Care as part of their 30th anniversary celebration. Based near Luton, Keech Hospice Care is a charity which supports children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, as well as adults from Luton and South Bedfordshire, who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses.
Woburn Safari Park is pleased to be supporting Keech Hospice Care during this important year and to be joining them in their mission to unite the community in this fun event.
To celebrate taking part, we invited some of Keech's patients to come along and meet the elephants, see below to see what happened...
