The dedicated team of keepers were determined that despite all of the upheaval of the pandemic, the lion cubs would still get to celebrate their first Christmas.
Lion cubs enjoy festive enrichment
The keepers treated the pride to presents filled with tasty treats, and a specially decorated Christmas tree, so that they could all enjoy some festive fun in the run up to Christmas Day!
First to investigate the Christmas scene was Tallulah, who quickly decided she wanted the gifts to herself.
However, last year's cub, Kojo, alongside his mum, Zuri, were soon allowed to take a look for themselves.
After that it didn't take long for curious cubs, Zulu, Hasani and Iniko to follow along. Soon the entire pride was digging into the tasty treats that had been left underneath the tree for them by their keepers.
Closure for Tier 4 restrictions
Across the Park the keepers will continue to work every day through Christmas and are committed to providing highest standards of care for the exotic residents of the park.
Sadly the team won’t be sharing celebrations with visitors this year, but while the park is closed there are some exciting new developments happening behind the scenes, planned for 2021.
